Active Rehab

Active rehabilitation is a treatment approach that uses exercise and movement to help recover from injuries, or support chronic conditions, by promoting physical function and independence.

It is generally exercise-based and focuses on movement as the primary therapeutic tool (as opposed to passive manual treatments). Each program is tailored to the individual’s specific injury, abilities and goals, and the exercises gradually increase in intensity and complexity as required. The aim is to restore mobility, strength, stability and endurance, eventually enabling a return to desired activities.

In my practice, I use Pilates exercises and equipment as the main approach for treatment, but I can work with a variety of modalities, so exercises are often adjusted and adapted for doing at home or in a gym setting.
